The Genuine Truth About Online Business Opportunities

First there are basically two types of PURE online selling. You're either:

• Selling your product

• Selling someone else's product.

Selling your Product:

eBay, Amazon, Craigslist, or whatever your medium is. You have a product that people want and you post an ad or list it at auction and sell it. Simple.

Selling someone else's product:

This could come in many forms. But basically you are either a Sales Rep or an Affiliate. The difference between the two: Sales rep you are employed by the company. An Affiliate you just sell their product and maybe sell others.

So a sales rep sells one product and tries to convince people why their product is superior. He gets commission maybe a salary, maybe health and other benefits and has to work every day to build up his leads to be able to close or make sales month in month out of the same product or company products.

An Affiliate is self-employed. They can sell whatever product they want and tend to cater to their customer's needs. They tend to specialize in niche products like sales reps, they still have to build leads to close sales, but they don't get all the benefits of a sales rep. But they do have one opportunity over sales reps. they can make a lot more money.

A lot of sales reps work for a company to get the skills they need then go out on their own because they do all the work to build the company but don't make what the owners do. There lies the key Element that is learned. The employee has a safety net. Benefits and a semi stable job. (I say semi because they can downsize or automate or do whatever they need to cut cost) The affiliate learns like the sales rep without the safety net and the benefits.

The Hard TRUTH

No matter which way you go it's about developing leads. The sales rep usually has the luxury of Brand Advertising. Major company's like NIKE, Boeing, and etc. spend millions of dollars on TV, print, radio, newspaper, cable, billboards, online, etc. to drive leads for their sales reps to follow up.

Now I say sales reps usually have the luxury of leads but they still have to call, visit, stop in follow up, pass out business cards, do their own advertising in some cases to get their own leads to build their employers business.

Some People in Insurance, Real estate, and the financial industry have the backing of the Brand Name but are Independent business owners. They have to pay for their own local advertising but have the luxury of National Advertising. But still have to go out and get leads and close sales.

SO How does all this relate to online business opportunities?

Online business opportunities require people to have:

• Startup Capital

• Spent the time and or money advertising to market their products or services.

Now there are people making Millions and Billions in online business opportunities. But these people have mastered all of these things and promote their own products and services.
